As always, the Zero Project Conference on the topic of Independent Living and Political Participation and ICTshined is one of the primary global conferences for the advancement of the inclusion of people with disabilities. Being part of almost 1300 people in the building and 10,000+ from over 80 countries was exciting and informative. The impressive presentations, remarkable technologies, and open discussions in multiple halls with people from many countries reminded all that disability has no borders.
On the first day of the UN Vienna-based event, Access Israel hosted a touching panel on their activity on the border of Poland, assisting all people, especially people with disabilities and the elderly, under the Purple Vest Mission. The session "Inclusion in times of Crisis" was met with great emotion. The panel of responders, foundations, and citizens of Ukraine enlightened the audience about the tragedy that began one year ago today. The Purple Vest Mission continues its work with Ukrainian refugees. Accesss Israel is ready to train you, organizations, universities, hotels, governmental representatives, and others throughout the world – on how to provide emergency services, evacuations, humanitarian aid, information, and much more – in an accessible way and in anticipation of an expected natural disaster, war, or other catastrophic events. Our goal is to help people with disabilities and the elderly, if possible, before the event occurs, and if not, we are ready to mobilize soon after the initial request is filed.
The second day ran thegamut of emotion and accomplishments. Michal Rimon moderated a wonderful panel with remarkable and innovative technologies from all over Israel including Access Israel's POSSIBLE initiative.
Michael Rimon and the Access Israel Family, in an orignally non-planned mwting, conducted training on topic disability on time of emergency group from Turkey who were hit with 3 catastrophic earthquakes.
