In a region where challenges for youth with disabilities often hinder their access to education and employment opportunities, organizations like Youth 4 Jobs are making significant strides in empowering these individuals. Recently, Y4J teamed up with us at Access Israel, to conduct a comprehensive online course aimed at enhancing the skills and knowledge of young people with disabilities.
Spanning five engaging sessions, the course covered a wide range of topics crucial for the empowerment of youth with disabilities. From emergency preparedness to inclusive employment, inclusive education, and the utilization of assistive technologies, each session delved deep into areas essential for breaking barriers and fostering inclusivity.
The collaboration between Y4J and Access Israel proved to be a fruitful endeavor, with active participation from all attendees. One participant, reflecting on their experience, remarked, “It’s a wonderful training session. Before attending, I had no concept of inclusion in the education system or accessibility in emergencies. This session opened my eyes to these important issues and will undoubtedly enhance my effectiveness in my work.”
As the course concluded, expressions of gratitude flowed from both organizers and participants. Y4J expressed appreciation for the meaningful collaboration with Access Israel, recognizing the shared commitment to empowering youth with disabilities.
