The Tower of David Museum of the History of Jerusalem is located in the medieval citadel known as the Tower of David, near the Jaffa Gate, the historic entrance to the Old City
The Museum presents Jerusalem’s story. It details the major events in its history beginning with the first evidence of a city in Jerusalem in the second millennium BCE, until the city became the capital of the State of Israel. Through the history of the city, visitors discover its significance to three largest monotheistic religions. The permanent exhibition illustrates the city’s history along the axis of time using models, dioramas, film and includes explanations in Hebrew, Arabic and English.
Accessibility at the Tower of David Museum
The Tower of David Museum is located in the ancient citadel of the city of Jerusalem that was built to protect the city from invaders. Despite its age and its complexity much of the site is wheelchair accessible.
The Museum staff is happy to help with all requests in order to enable everyone to have an enjoyable experience at the Tower of David.

King David Show
King David Show is the new Tower of David Museum night time experience in which the majestic story of David, from shepherd-to-king, comes to life in a completely new cinematic production projected onto the walls and archaeological excavations of the ancient citadel.
The production uses art, film and music to tell the timeless story of David in a multi-disciplinary celebration of color that illuminates the citadel at night.
Information about the Show:
* The King David Show is wheelchair accessible.
* Show runtime: 45 minutes. Please dress warmly – the show is open air.
* The show begins with a walk through the courtyard followed by the viewing of the main performance.
* The King David Show will not take place in the event of extreme weather conditions (Visitors will be notified in case of cancellation).
* The museum and the permanent exhibition are closed at 16:00 (During July-August at 17:00).
* No photography allowed during the performance in all areas of the citadel.
* Due to the nature of the show – late entrances are not allowed.
