Second Webinar between Israel and Myanmar

On the 12th of January the second webinar between Israel and Myanmar on accessibility and inclusion took place. The webinar focused on “Technologies for Business to Consumer Services”. Almost 100 people from different business sectors in Myanmar participated at the webinar.


The webinar was organized in cooperation the Israeli Ambassador to Israel Ronen Gil-Or and the embassy, the Myanmar Israel Chamber of Commerce Industry and Innovation and the Myanmar Centre for Responsible Business (MCRB). 


The audience was first greeted by Michal Rimon, the CEO of Access Israel who moderated the event. Then Ambassador Ronen Gil-Or addressed the audience, which was followed by remarks by Vicky Bowman of the MCRB.

Christopher Lee, the General Director of the IAAP, who is a leading expert in the field of accessibility and inclusion in websites spoke about his work and the importance of accessible websites. Following this great lecture, Michal Rimon introduced three Israeli technologies that offer great solutions for businesses. Eran Fishov represented Verbit, an automatic captioning solution; Maya Huber represented Skillset which offers which offers an AI-SAAS job compatibility simulation platform and Nir Aran of Acoustic Protocol, which develops acoustic infrastructure that enables the mapping and integration of acoustic signatures.

Following these interesting presentations, the audience heard the Myanmar experience on this topic. The panel of 4 speakers presented where Myanmar stands on their path to accessibility and brought interesting insights to this issue. The Myanmar panel was moderated by Dr Zaw Moe Aung, The Leprosy Mission Myanmar (TLM) and the speakers were Ma Yu Ya Thu, Founder/Executive Director, Myanmar Independent Living , U Win Shwe, Developer, Myanmar Assistive Technology Center and U Kyaw Kyaw, Founder/ Program Director, Myanmar Deaf Community Association.

This webinar was a great success and showed the great potential of cooperation between Israel and Myanmar in the field of accessibility.
