During our recent visit to New York, as part of CRPD COSP16, Access Israel together with the Israeli mission to the UN, organized a special event at the United Nations. The event aimed to provide firsthand experiences of what emergency evacuation feels like for people with disabilities.
Throughout these experiences, speakers with disabilities accompanied the participants, sharing their perspectives on emergencies and how the human factor can provide assistance. Israeli technologies designed to support people with disabilities during emergencies were also showcased. We extend our gratitude to the Israeli mission to the UN for providing a platform for this crucial issue. Special thanks go to Israel’s ambassador to the US, Gilad Erdan, for his important initiative.
