MASHAV, Israel’s Agency for International Development Cooperation, and Access Israel organized a webinar on “Accessible Tourism” for Russian speakers. The aim of this webinar was to introduce the participants to the concept of accessible tourism and to present Israeli solutions and approaches to develop tourism that is accessible and inclusive for all.
During the three hour long webinar, which was fully in Russian, the participants learned from Daria Boudniatski, Access Israel’s Accessibility Consultant what accessible tourism means, what it includes and why it is important. This was followed by a presentation by Alexander Kaplun a representative of Step Hear, who presented their solution to make public transport accessible to all.
In addition, Svetlana Morozov presented the work of the Tower of David to be fully accessible and inclusive. Damir Miller, who established an organization called Accesstravels shared his platform that help people with disabilities to travel freely and prepare their travel according to their needs. Additionally, Roman Kogan, the Director of the RSJ Outreach and Engagement, Nadav Foundation and ANU – Museum of the Jewish People spoke about their work.
Yulia Sarviro, the Senior Product Manager of Smart Cities for All of the G3ict & IAAP spoke about their work in promoting accessibility of websites, which is crucial in today’s tourism. At the end, the participants had time to ask Access Israel’s consultant questions and learn more about what they can do to create more accessible and inclusive tourism for all.
